LOCATION AND THEME
Address (Approx.): 109 Atlantic Ave. North facing concrete wall at King St. W & Atlantic Ave -adjacent to the pedestrian rampway and access stairs near the south-east corner of King St W & Atlantic Ave (see the below image with red outline). Location is conveniently located at Liberty Village’s most used gateway, design should represent the neighbourhood and welcome visitors into our community. Design should not impair the use of the accessibility ramp.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced visual artists or muralists to submit their bio and portfolio (PDF or PPT format). Selected artist(s) will be chosen based on artistic merit, professional experience and capacity to complete the project. This call is open to professional artists living in the GTA or surrounding area. We encourage artists that are indigenous, people of colour, women, 2SLGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and members of other marginalized communities to apply.
PROJECT BUDGET & TIMELINE
$7,500 (HST inclusive)- includes labour, license, and materials.
Submission Deadline: June 30, 2022 at 4pm EST
Selected Artist Notification: July 11, 2022
Selected Artist creation of proposal: July 13-27, 2022
Installation: August 2-26 (this is the available window for installation)
GENERAL INFORMATION
● The art mural is in partnership with the City of Toronto, LVBIA and First Capital REIT ● Designs may include text, diagrams or pictures but may not use any offensive images, language or commercial slogans.
● Moral rights of the artwork will remain with the artist. FCR/LVBIA will work with selected artist on copyrights and its use of images for promotional purposes.
