Welcome to Liberty Village — a place where ideas take root, ambitions grow, and innovation thrives. Once Toronto’s industrial hub, Liberty Village is now a vibrant, campus-style community where heritage meets modern energy. Whether you're building a business, starting fresh, or simply exploring, Liberty Village is where you belong. Home to over 600+ businesses — from bold startups to established leaders — and a modern residential community and an array of unique experiences,  it’s a place to live, work, and discover. This neighbourhood is alive with opportunity.

Established in 2001, the Liberty Village Business Improvement Association (LVBIA) proudly stands as Canada’s first “campus-style” commercial BIA. We represent a thriving network of 600+ businesses, 20+ commercial property owners, 11,000 employees, and a dynamic community of 25,000+ residents in the heart of Liberty Village. Recognized as a benchmark among Toronto’s 84 BIAs, we are committed to fostering business growth, enhancing public spaces, and driving innovative, forward-thinking initiatives.

More than a business advocate, the LVBIA is a catalyst for community vitality. Through sustainability-driven projects and placemaking efforts, we strive to make Liberty Village an exceptional place to work, live, and thrive.

Board of
Management

The Liberty Village BIA is governed by a volunteer Board of Management, elected by its members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and confirmed by City Council for a four-year term. The Board comprises public directors—selected by BIA members and recommended to the Community Council—as well as City Councillors.

Role and Responsibilities

The Board serves as the driving force behind the BIA’s efforts, working to develop budgets, establish strategic priorities, plan festivals and community events, implement capital improvements, and promote Liberty Village as a dynamic business hub.

Additionally, the Board oversees essential initiatives, including streetscape beautification, marketing and promotional campaigns, and education on crime prevention strategies.

Board members are deeply committed to the community, lending their leadership and vision to ensure Liberty Village thrives. Acting as a unified voice for the BIA, they advocate on behalf of all members, addressing both shared concerns and opportunities.
