The Liberty Village Business Improvement Area (LVBIA) is a community driven, non-profit organization that is committed to improving the experience of our business owners, employees, visitors, members and stakeholders. As the first commercial-based BIA in Canada (2001), the LVBIA represents more than 600 businesses and 11,000 employees located in a campus-style community. Liberty Village is a thriving community with numerous established innovative and creative companies, a variety of restaurants and retailers, and various professional service providers; both local and international.

Position Overview
The Liberty Village Business Improvement Area (LVBIA) is seeking an energetic individual to fill the role of Part-Time Marketing and Events Coordinator. This position consists of remote and in-office work (when needed). Opportunities for full-time employment may be available in the future. The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting with a range of community relations, marketing and event activities for the BIA.

Hours: 20 to 25 hours per week (must be available Saturdays & Sundays in August 11am to 3pm)
Compensation: $20hr
Reports To: Community Manager and Executive Committee
Location: Hybrid – Some Hours in Office at 67 Mowat Ave, Toronto, ON. (when needed)
Start Date: ASAP

• Maintain LVBIA website directory, job board and blog
• Maintain positive relationships with BIA members and be the first point of contact for welcoming new businesses
• Planning, tracking, implementing and reporting on special projects
• Assisting in the planning, marketing and execution of BIA events
• Manage all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN) and create content calendars for each
• Office Requirements: email inquiries, data records management and excel spreadsheet tracking.
• Research, develop, write and edit content for monthly digital newsletters
• Attend committee meetings of the LVBIA as required.
• Other duties as required.

Skills and Experience
• Post-secondary education in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business (or professional experience)
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Clerical office administration
• Social Media Management (Content Calendars, Paid Ads etc.,)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace
• Graphic design knowledge is an asset (Canva or Adobe Illustrator)
• Experience working with WordPress is an asset
• Working knowledge of CRM systems is an asset
• Previous BIA Experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with the Liberty Village neighbourhood and businesses is an asset
