We are working jointly with the City of Toronto on a project to revitalize the public space in front of the properties at Zoomerplex and 147 Liberty Street. This project has been a long-standing goal of ours and is supported by City of Toronto, Economic Development & Culture. Construction to begin Spring – Summer 2019!

The Liberty Street BIA and the City of Toronto are working jointly on a project to revitalize the public space in front of the properties at Zoomerplex and 147 Liberty Street. Designs for two parkettes are underway and we wish to introduce you to the project and get your feedback.

This is a drop-in event in gallery format with an opportunity for Q&A and a general discussion with representatives.

A big thank you to the Directors who served on the Liberty Village BIA Board of Management from 2014-2018. It goes without saying your contributions in your respective roles and committees helped to make Liberty Village the dynamic, thriving, creative tech hub it is today.

Memorable initiatives Chaired by a member of the Board of Management:

  • Animated Public Realm (APR)

  • Advocacy

    • Responsible for engaging all levels of government, City Departments and staff as well as diverse stakeholders in moving forward significant projects that have far reaching impact across Liberty Village. These include a New Road for LV as well as the Master Plan.
  • Ambassador, Recruitment & Expansion

    • Has two diverse mandates; First to engage those business owners, employees and property owners of Liberty Village to participate in the BIA and build a strong base for the committees and the Board under the recruitment banner. Second is the actual Boundary Expansion of the BIA to better reflect the growing nature of Liberty Village and to encompass those businesses and properties in that area.

  • Retail & Restaurant

    • Working in partnership with the LV Residents Association,  several thousand “Welcome Totes” were delivered by BIA teams to residential units that contained coupons, samplers, flyers and postcards of over 30 retail / restaurant businesses.
    • Passport to Savings Program  filled with discounts to local retailers, delivered to 10,000 to local residents, businesses and surrounding community.
  • TTC 

    • Discounted Metropasses for members (No longer available as of December 2018)

On Thursday, November 1st,  Liberty Village BIA members and the community attended the 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

At the Craft Brasserie and Grille in Liberty Village, the AGM began with a networking session, where guests enjoyed a meet and greet with the Board of Management nominees for 2019.  In addition, a running slide show presented highlights of Liberty Village BIA committees projects, programs and highlights from 2015 to 2018.

A big thank you to Board members for their ongoing commitment, time and care to the success of the Liberty Village BIA.

The new elected Board of Management will be announced in January 2019.

Liberty Village BIA proudly represents over 800 businesses with more than 11,000 employees, all located in our unique campus style community situated on the west side of Toronto’s downtown core. An active Board of Management works to further revitalize and improve this incredible neighbourhood.

The LVBIA is currently looking for nominees for positions on the Board of Management for the 2019-2022 term.
