Celebrating Women in Liberty Village for IWD 2019

The Liberty Village BIA is proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day by recognizing and celebrating the talents, achievements and leadership of women in our community.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we asked Liberty Village business community to submit the names of women they felt deserved to be highlighted. The community answered the call, thank you to all who put names forward to recognize employees, coworkers, connections and friends; special thank you to the men for being allies and amplifying women’s voices.

If you wish to join us in celebrating IWD 2019, it is not too late to participate! On Friday March 8th, post on Instagram using the hashtags #IWD2019inLV #BalanceforBetter and tagging @LIBERTYVILLAGEBIA, we’ll share your posts in our story, and make a compilation of them in a blog post published later in March.

New Art Benches Coming to Liberty Village in Spring 2019

Exciting news! Our APR committee has been working hard with Mural Routes and the City of Toronto to bring a pop of colour and additional seating to the Liberty Village community with new art benches! A total of 14 art benches will be installed in Spring 2019. The reveal date will be announced in the next few months.

The underlining theme of these designs is to capture the past industrial history and modern creative center that makes up Liberty Village.

It has been a pleasure to support local artists and beautify the streetscape for the community and visitors to the neighbourhood.
