Ever wondered what it looks like inside some of the city’s coolest and inspiring offices, let alone those found in your own backyard of Liberty Village? Many of us take advantage of the annual Doors Open Toronto event that occurs every spring where we get a glimpse into some of Toronto’s oldest and most unique buildings. Startup Open House has adopted a similar concept.
Why Startup Open House?
This event is a fun way to explore offices you may have never considered or even heard about before. It is a great way to network, be inspired, learn about up and coming technologies and products or just to try something new. Startup Open House originated in Montreal and is a project by Credo Productions. They now offer these open house events across the country in cities like Vancouver, Waterloo, London, Montreal, and of course Toronto! The event happens on Thursday, September 22nd from 3pm-8pm. Get your tickets to the Toronto event here and start planning which spaces you want to visit!
Participating Companies from Liberty Village
Philippe Leblank from Flixel gave us some insight on why they think Startup Open House is an amazing event. He says, “we participated last year and it was great seeing promising new talent who want to get involved with startups.” With the curation and participation of these type of events, it certainly helps to strengthen the startup ecosystem and effectively, the community. Leblanc also notes that it is cool being a part of a startup business because, “everybody on the team within a startup gets to do meaningful work that fundamentally impacts the success of the company.” One of the reasons why Flixel has chosen Liberty Village as their home is because of the location for their staff and the old style brick feeling.
How to Participate Next Year
