Give Me Liberty Street Party 2018:
The 15th Anniversary of the Give Me Liberty Street Party on June 14th was an outstanding success! To commemorate this milestone, the event started with Councillor Mike Layton hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Give Me Liberty Street Party continues to grow. We had more than 58 vendors and 1000 + attendees this year! Vendors booths included Liberty Village restaurants, retailers, personal services and banks.
A special thank you to our Platinum Partners who help to make this and other Liberty Village BIA events and activities possible throughout the year:
AND, a very big shout out to our Give Me Liberty Sponsors. THANK YOU!!
Players and cheerleaders from our Toronto Champion Sports Teams were all there —
TFC with the MLS Cup; the Toronto Argonauts and their cheerleaders; as well as the Toronto Wolfpack and their newly named mascot, “Jefferson”. We truly appreciate each team taking the time to mingle and take photos with the crowds. Thank you to all for their participation in making the event special one!
A new addition to the Give Me Liberty Event this year was the Pet Fashion Show sponsored by Pet Valu Liberty Village. We extended an invitation to all neighbourhood pets to represent their furry friends in Liberty Village, and they did not disappoint. Liberty Village judges picked their Top 3 Best Dressed Pets and they were awarded with a prize from Pet Valu Liberty Village. They all looked amazing, and each one got a prize for participating!
Give Me Liberty was lucky to have two talented musical performers: Kayla Diamond and Cassie Dasilva.
Cassie Dasilva, an emerging artist from Ontario, opened the show. She released her first single “Welcome to My Castle”, on Universal Music Canada. And, Toronto’s own singer-songwriter Kayla Diamond, headlined the show. She performed her debut single “Carnival Hearts” which is a Top 40 hit across Canada; and her latest single, “What You’re Made Of,” cracked the Top 20 and continues to climb!
Give Me Liberty 2018 was a very special event! From everyone at the Liberty Village BIA, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, vendors and participants – everyone who helped to make this event a success. We are looking forward to next year!
