Liberty Village BIA Celebrates International Women’s Day 2019

March 4, 2019 (LIBERTY VILLAGE, TORONTO) – In honour of International Women’s Day, the Liberty Village Business Improvement Area (LVBIA) will recognize and celebrate women’s leadership in our community. We reach out to you not only to celebrate women, but to do what you can to make a positive difference for all women.

This year, we will be recognizing and honouring women who are vital to the Liberty Village community, and celebrating their achievements both locally and globally.

The LVBIA is launching a multi-channel recognition campaign where you can share your story by sending it to by March 6th tagging the Liberty Village BIA handles and using #IWD2019inLV on social media.

The International Women’s Day 2019 theme is #BalanceforBetter. It is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world.

The LVBIA is currently looking for nominees for positions on the Board of Management for the 2019-2022 term.

Liberty Talks Speakers’ Series presents Terry O’Reilly, “Don’t Outspend Them, Outsmart Them”

The Liberty Village BIA will be presenting its Liberty Talks Speakers’ Series featuring Terry O’Reilly.

In a world where most advertisers don’t have huge budgets to trounce the competition, where small advertisers are up against deeper pockets, and where not–for–profit communicators struggle to make an impact, there is a way to gain remarkable returns.

Our Liberty Talks Speakers’ Series, “Don’t Outspend them; Outsmart Them” was an amazing success! On Thursday, March 8 at 4:30 to 7:30 pm at The Avenue at the Bakery (York Heritage Properties), 2 Fraser Street in Liberty Village, we welcomed over 200 guests to enjoy an inspiring marketing presentation by Terry O’Reilly.

About Terry O’Reilly

Terry is a Canadian broadcast producer and personality, best known as host of the CBC Radio One series, “O’Reilly on Advertising”, “The Age of Persuasion”, and most recently “Under the Influence”.

The Event, “Don’t Outspend them; Outsmart Them”

The event began with a networking session from 4:30-5:30pm. 

Our event sponsor, Beanfield Metroconnect, provided the drinks 

Catering by Maizal provided plenty of food from a Charcuterie Board, to Potato Tacos, Pork Sopecitos and Jam Cookies.

Terry presented from 5:30 – 6:45 pm, with a Q&A session that would follow.

Summer B2B Networking Event – The Craft Brasserie

Summer time is the perfect time to enjoy getting out and exploring the neighborhood. We held a B2B Networking event at The Craft Brasserie one late July evening. Mad Batter Bakers kindly supplied some delicious custom LVBIA cookies and people also enjoyed scrumptious cupcakes from For the Love of Cake.  The evening was filled with many different business owners and managers from the community. Lots of laughs, connecting and reconnecting occurred. A few of our Board Members were on hand including the Chair, Rod Bell. The Craft Brasserie did a fantastic job with the food. Spring 2016 Networking Event – LinkedIn Breakfast Talk with Perry Monaco

Our spring LVBIA morning networking event was a great success! It was held at the beautiful Mildred’s Temple Kitchen. We were extremely fortunate to have Perry Monaco, a Customer Success Leader at LinkedIN. Weather was not exactly on our side as a huge snowfall occurred just hours before the event. Despite the weather, we still had an excellent turnout. Everyone walked away with some extra knowledge on how to optimize their LinkedIn profiles and connected or reconnected with other Liberty Village employees. A special thanks to our Treasurer Chris Wilkins for executing the MC duties and to other Board Members that came out.
