Committee Structure

The Liberty Village BIA has a number of standing committees that serve to carry out activities of the BOM and develop the area. These include;

Advocacy

Responsible for engaging all levels of government, City Departments and staff as well as diverse stakeholders in moving forward significant projects such as Metrolinx- Exhibition station construction, various construction projects to bring the City infrastructure to a state of good repair, and the new Road for LV as well as the Master Plan.

The committee is also responsible for engaging with business owners, employers and property owners of Liberty Village to participate in the BIA and build a strong base for the Board and oversees the promotion of office spaces, commercial property outreach, and research projects.

Events

Responsible for developing, planning and organizing events for the BIA member businesses and their employees. These focus on the annual Give Me Liberty after-work street party, the Live at Liberty music series with live music pop-ups at multiple locations and our holiday season Ugly Sweater party.

Marketing & Retail

Responsible for the internal and external promotion and branding of Liberty Village and the BIA members, with a strongly developed social media and marketing strategy across extensive platforms and a thriving home Website, the LVBIA has emerged as an online presence leader.

The committee is also responsible for engaging with retail and restaurant businesses in Liberty Village with programming such as ShopLiberty2win and the Neighbourhood E-gift card program.

Streetscape

Responsible for streetscape improvement projects and maintenance of outdoor assets of the BIA. From looking after the landscaping of our beautiful planting areas of Linear Park and the King Beds to the renowned Benchmark project generating artistic public seating, the Streetscape committee strives to ensure a Liberty Village that is Green, Vibrant, Clean and Dynamic.

Please note that all committees must be Chaired by a Member of the Board of Management or the LVBIA Manager.
